Dearly departed

Lee Yong-soo, a survivor of Japanese wartime sexual slavery, mourns the deaths of two fellow victims during a weekly rally to protest the “comfort women” issue on Wednesday in front of the Japanese Embassy in central Seoul. Lee Soo-dan, 95, from Heilongjiang Province in China, and Gong Jeom-yeop, 96, from South Jeolla, died on Tuesday of old age. This brings the number of survivors who registered with the Korean government down to 42 from an original 238. [NEWSIS]
