Indian criminal poses as K-pop singer Suzy

Photos of singer-actor Suzy have been used by an Indian woman to commit crimes.

India-based English newspapers such as Deccan Chronicle and The Economic Times reported Wednesday that the Indian police have arrested three criminals and found one of them opened two bank accounts using photos of Suzy.

The Indian press reported that an Indian woman, who resides in Mizoram, located in the northeastern part of India, downloaded photos of Suzy from the Internet and fabricated the photos to make them suitable for use for bank books.

JYP Entertainment, Suzy’s agency, said, “We were not conscious of it until it was reported. Sometimes, small game companies overseas use photos of Suzy without our consent, maybe because they could easily download photos of her online.”

Suzy is currently shooting the drama series “Uncontrollably Fond” with actor Kim Woo-bin.

The drama series will begin airing July 6 on KBS2.

Suzy debuted as a member of the quartet girl group Miss A in 2010, but she began to carve a name for herself as an actress after she starred in the hit film “Architecture 101” in 2012.

The 22-year-old entertainer is often dubbed a “small company” because her annual revenue is said to be equivalent to that of a small- or medium-sized company.
