Jung Yong-hwa joins Chinese fund-raiser

The 26-year-old will be the first non-Chinese model for such a Chinese state campaign, Jung’s talent agency, FNC Entertainment, revealed on Wednesday.
The purpose of the event is to raise donations for various charity projects by inviting celebrities and volunteers to participate in a silent march in remote villages for a week. Participating celebrities, include Chen Kun, who founded the festival six years ago.
“We believe that Jung, who is greatly loved by Chinese youth and is also actively communicating with the public, will be the right person who can encourage the youth,” said a person affiliated with Power to Go. “We anomalously chose a foreigner as a model because Jung is one of the representative artists who has provided happiness to the public through his music and warm smile.”
The singer-actor, a well-loved artist in China, has remained in first place on the Gaon Weibo Chart run by the Chinese social media service Weibo for 68 straight weeks.
