Apink to face challenges in new reality show

K-pop girl group Apink will star in a new reality program, their talent agency, Plan A Entertainment, announced Thursday.

Tentatively titled “Extreme Adventure,” the show is scheduled to air in August through Naver, the nation’s top web portal.

The program will center on the group’s six members taking on extreme challenges. Each singer is expected to reveal her true self to the show’s viewers in the process of carrying out the challenges.

The new reality program will be a little different from the previous ones they took part in, such as “Apink’s Show Time” (2014) and “Apink News” (2012), in that each member will participate in the shooting individually to carry out different challenges.

The female act debuted in 2011 and since then released numerous hit songs, including “Remember,” “Brand New Days” and “NoNoNo.” In addition to music activities, a few members have expanded their careers into acting.

Jeong Eun-ji, for example, earned great acclaim through the popular tvN drama “Reply 1997” (2012).

Another member, Son Na-eun, also received particular attention after appearing on the MBC reality program “We Got Married,” which shows how a marriage would be between pairs of celebrities, alongside Taemin from K-pop boy group SHINee in 2013.
