Airlines’ fuel charges return as global oil prices increase

As international oil prices are bouncing back, fuel surcharges on the nation’s domestic flights will return to the price of tickets beginning next month. A 1,100 won ($0.93) fuel surcharge will be imposed starting in July, as the average fuel price for May exceeded $1.20.
The surcharge on a one-way domestic flight reached 8,800 won in January last year. However, it was lowered to zero in February due to a steep decline in oil prices.
Fuel surcharges for international flights will still be exempt.
