Cha, La confirmed to star in ‘Gentlemen’
Actor Cha In-pyo and actress La Mi-ran have been confirmed to star as a fictional couple in the upcoming KBS2 drama series tentatively titled “Gentlemen of Laurel Tree Tailors,” according to production company Pan Entertainment on Thursday.Cha will play Bae Sam-do, who used to be a legendary garment cutter but now runs a chicken restaurant. Bae is portrayed as handsome and talented but often feels frightened and nervous in front of his wife, Bok Seon-nyeo, played by La.
Although La will play the wife with a violent temper and an obsession with money, her character is also known to be polite and responsible.
“Cha and La are expected to make the audience laugh and cry as a fictional couple,” said a source from the production company. “The pair are expected to show great chemistry.”
Other celebrities participating in the project include actor Lee Dong-gun and actress Jo Yoon-hee.
The upcoming drama, which will be aired after “Five Enough,” will touch on the characters’ friendship, success and love.
