“어미 황새가 새끼 황새들에게 먹이를 주고 있는 모습입니다. 제목은
한 단계씩 따라하다 보면 문장이 저절로 외워지고 영어 구조에 대한 감각이 자연스럽게 생겨난답니다.
Stork nestlings, (hatched) (naturally) (for the first time) (in 45 years), are fed (Wednesday) (by one) (of the eight adult storks) (released) (last year) (in Yesan Oriental Stork Park) (in South Chungcheong).
“우선 문장의 뼈대를 살펴보면 주어는 Stork nestlings(새끼 황새들이), 서술어는 are(있다), 보어는 fed(먹여지고)입니다. 문장의 뼈대를 말해 보도록 합니다.”

이 새끼 황새들은 (hatched) (naturally) ‘자연적으로 부화된’ 것들인데 이렇게 태어난 것은 (for the first time) (in 45 years) ‘45년 만에 처음으로’입니다. 시점은 (Wednesday) ‘수요일’이고 새끼 황새들은 (by one) (of the eight adult storks) ‘어미 황새들의 여덟 마리 중 한 마리에게’ 먹이를 받아 먹고 있습니다. 이 어미 황새들은 (released) (last year) (in Yesan Oriental Stork Park) (in South Chungcheong) ‘충청남도 예산황새공원에서 작년에 방사된’ 황새들입니다.”
A park spokesperson said [the nestlings will leave their nest (in about a month), {when their weight reaches four to five kilograms}].
“두 번째 문장은 ‘공원 대변인에 따르면 새끼 황새들이 대략 한달 뒤에 둥지를 떠날 것이고 이 때 황새의 몸무게가 4킬로에서 5킬로 그램 정도 나갈 것’이라는 내용 입니다. 두 번째 문장도 말해 본 후 첫 문장과 이어서 다시 말해 보세요.”
