New series ‘Let’s Fight Ghost’ starts in July

Singer-actor Ok Taec-yeon of K-pop boy group 2PM and actress Kim So-hyun will appear on the small screen on July 11 in tvN’s “Let’s Fight Ghost.”
Other participating celebrities include actors Kwon Yul and Kim Sang-ho.
The romantic horror comedy will revolve around a male character, played by Ok, who has the ability to see and touch ghosts.
Kim will play the part of a ghost who died as a high schooler and lost all memory of her life before her death.
“Since this will probably be my last project before going to serve in the military next year, I will give my best effort,” Ok said during a press conference at the Imperial Palace Hotel in Nonhyeon-dong, southern Seoul, on Friday.
The producer, Park Joon-hwa, explained how the upcoming webtoon-based series will differ from the original webtoon.
“Although there are some scary scenes, the drama in general will have a bright atmosphere,” Park said. “I tried my best to mix comedy, horror and romance in the drama.”
Park also noted his reasons behind casting the TV personalities.
“Ok’s personality in the drama and his true character in reality are highly similar, so I think he will be able to act naturally,” Park said. “As for Kim, she is currently perceived more as a girl rather than a woman. I hope this drama will be a turning point for her to be perceived by the public as a grown-up.”
