SG Wannabe singer indicted for battery

The Gangnam Police Precinct announced on Friday that singer Kim Yong-jun of the K-pop ballad group SG Wannabe has been indicted without detention over allegations of physically assaulting another customer at a bar.
Kim was drinking at a bar with his friend in Gangnam District, southern Seoul, at around 11 p.m. on May 8, the day of the incident, when police say one of the customers got involved in a fight with another person.
When that customer fell down against Kim in the process of fighting, Kim responded, “What are you hitting me for?” Police said the customer then ran toward the singer, and Kim allegedly kicked him.
The ballad singer claims he acted in self-defense and is being unfairly accused.
Police have booked six people without detention, including the customer and Kim, who were involved in the fight.
