SNSD alum to star in Chinese TV program

Singer Jessica, a former member of K-pop girl group Girls’ Generation, will star in a Chinese variety program “Happy Camp,” which is one of the most popular TV shows in China.

The 27-year-old’s talent agency Coridel Entertainment confirmed on Monday that the singer recently completed shooting for the program.

The episode featuring Jessica is scheduled to hit the air on July 18. Many top stars have appeared in the Chinese reality program.

Some of the Hallyu stars that have been featured so far include actor Song Joong-ki from the latest drama “Descendants of the Sun” and singer Hwang Chi-yeul, who has been gaining recognition for his musical talents in China by appearing in Chinese music programs.

When leaving her former talent agency SM Entertainment in September 2014, the singer announced that she wanted to focus on her career as a fashion designer. However, she returned to the spotlight as a solo musician with an album “With Love, J” in May.
