Shake Shack sets July 22 opening in Gangnam

Shake Shack, a New York-based global burger chain, will have its grand opening in Korea on July 22.
The official entry comes a half-year after the chain inked a partnership with Korea’s bakery giant SPC.

The first local branch selected the Gangnam area for its entry in Korea. Near Sinnonhyeon Station on Gangnam Boulevard, the site of the restaurant, there’s already a billboard signaling Shake Shack’s entrance.

The Seoul store will sell the chain’s flagship burgers including ShackBurger, SmokeShack and ’Shroom Burger. Burger fans can attend the restaurant’s opening at 11 a.m. on July 22.

The burger brand is accelerating its entry into global markets. It opened its first Asian store in Japan last year.
