9Muses will release new album Aug. 4

Female K-pop group 9Muses will release their new album on Aug. 4 at 12 p.m., according to their talent agency Star Empire on Thursday.

The label also unveiled a 17-second trailer that hints at what kind of music the new album will include through its official YouTube Channel.

Of the six current members, only four will take part in the new summer album titled 9Muses A. The agency has not yet announced the names of the four. “A” reportedly stands for “amuse” and reflects the new unit’s wish to entertain fans through their performances.

The album will drop around the same time as others by popular female singers like Hyuna, prompting fierce competition.

It will be the act’s first album since “Lost” last November.

Since the girl group debuted in 2010, its members have frequently changed. Hyemi is the only original member that has remained throughout.

Although the members were recognized for model-like looks when the group debuted, it has not been easy for 9Muses to accrue a dedicated fanbase because of the frequent member changes.
