Ballerina Kang Sue-jin took her slippers off for good on the stage of the Stuttgart Opera House in Stuttgart, Germany, on Friday evening local time. After performing as Tatiana, her signature character in “Onegin,” she ended her 30-year career as a dancer. As the 49-year-old prima ballerina of the Stuttgart Ballet, above, salutes the audience during the curtain call after the performance, about 1,400 people in the auditorium held up pieces of white cardboard reading “Danke Suejin” to say goodbye.
