Kim Ki-bum joins new talent agency as actor

Kim Ki-bum, a former member of the male act Super Junior, signed an exclusive contract with Y Team Company, according to the talent agency on Monday.

“We will fully support Kim as he begins the second part of his career as an actor,” said a source affiliated with the agency.

Kim joined the entertainment scene as a child actor in 2004 and starred in numerous dramas. He then debuted as a member of Super Junior in 2005, which earned huge popularity for hits like “Sorry Sorry” and “Mr. Simple.”

After his contract expired with SM Entertainment, which represents the group, Kim decided to focus on acting again. He has since appeared in numerous dramas such as “Deep Rooted Trees” (2011) and “I Love Italy” (2012). He also took part in several Chinese dramas such as “The Demigods and Semi-devils” (2013-14).

Meanwhile, the celebrity is currently preparing for a fan meet-up event scheduled for Aug. 21 in Thailand. He will then head to Hong Kong to shoot a new movie, returning to Korea in October. The title of that movie has not yet been announced.
