K-pop boy band Monsta X and Korean-Chinese girl group Cosmic Girls teamed up for a new temporary unit Yteen, according to Starship Entertainment, which represent both groups, on Wednesday.
The new unit will consist of 14 members in total and will release a new album this month. They will also model for KT, the country’s second-largest mobile services carrier. They will mainly focus on promoting KT’s “Yteen plan,” which is designed for teenagers.
“The group has been named Yteen in order to appeal to the main users of the mobile rate system,” said a person affiliated with the promotional efforts.
Like ordinary idol groups, the temporary unit will release many different kinds of content including a music video.
