KT&G’s Esse cigarette brand tops 200 billion sales abroad
KT&G said Wednesday that accumulated overseas sales of its slim cigarette brand Esse exceeded 200 billion cigarettes sold as of July.The milestone comes just four years after overseas sales reached 100 billion in 2012. The Esse brand is sold in 50 countries in North America, Europe and Southeast Asia.
KT&G is the world’s fifth-largest cigarette manufacturer, and the company’s overseas sales exceed domestic sales. Last year, KT&G sold 46.5 billion cigarettes overseas and 40.6 billion in the domestic market.
