Visit Korea discounts travel packages for foreigners

For foreigners unafraid of the scorching weather, the Visit Korea Committee is offering new and discounted packages for traveling around the country.

K-Travel Bus, the overnight travel program for foreigners, will be $30 cheaper for those who sign up at the official website. Those registered for academic courses at universities in Korea or language programs at private institutes will get an additional $10 discount when they present their school identification card.

Considering that many prefer to beat the heat at a beach than a historical site, the committee has also launched temporary packages to Gyeongpodae Beach in Gangneung, Gangwon and Haeundae Beach in Busan. Floating tubes and beach balls will also be provided for more fun.

There’s a chance to win more free gifts even after coming back to Seoul from the two-day trips. The committee will hold a drawing for those who have write about K-Travel Bus online, giving out prizes that include an iPad mini, a K-Travel Bus gift certificate for 100,000 won ($90) and cosmetics.

Packages start from $145 and includes transportation, lodging, admission fees to historic or tourist sites and a language. Korean citizens can also join if they are accompanied by a foreigner. Reservations for the packages can be made at www.k-travelbus.com.
