A new chapter with Russia

It is a wise decision to hold the summit, and we expect a new chapter in Korea-Russia relations, with more cooperative terms, resulting from the top-level meeting./ 정상회담을 갖기로 한 것은 현명한 결정이며, 정상회담을 통해 더욱 협력적인 한러 관계의 새로운 장을 열어가기를 기대한다
Russia could provide us a way out of the current standoff with Beijing sparked by the government’s decision to deploy the Terminal Altitude Area Defense (Thaad) system./ 러시아는 현재 한국 정부의 사드 시스템의 배치 결정으로 냉각된 중국과의 관계에 돌파구를 제공할 수도 있다

Korea could also move to secure Russia’s gas pipelines in the far-eastern area to turn Raijin into a center to provide energy that is backed by China, Japan, Russia and the two Koreas./ 한국은 또한 극동지역에 있는 러시아 가스관을 유치해 나진을 중, 일, 러, 남, 북이 참여하는 에너지 거점도시로 키울 수도 있을 것이다
If that scenario becomes reality, it would contribute peace and prosperity not only for the Korean Peninsula but also for northeast Asia./ 만약 그 시나리오가 현실이 된다면 한반도의 평화와 번영에 기여할 뿐만 아니라 동북아시아의 평화와 번영에도 기여할 것이다
