Healthy accolades

Executives and CEOs of local and foreign leading pharmaceutical companies at the 2016 Korea Health Care Awards sponsored by the JoongAng Ilbo and Forbes Korea. The event was held on Wednesday at the Westin Chosun Hotel in downtown Seoul.

Participants included Kim Ji-young, executive director of Janssen Korea, fourth from right in the front row; Pyo Ji-hyun, public relations department head of Pfizer Korea, far right in the front row; Kim Dong-sub, managing director of advertising for the JoongAng Ilbo, far left in the front row; Chung Sun-gu, chief editor of JoongAng Ilbo magazines, far left in the second row; and Ryu Kwon-ha, executive editor of the Korea JoongAng Daily, far right in the second row.

A committee of around 10 experts from academia, the private sector, research institutes and the media selected the best domestic pharmaceutical company, best foreign pharmaceutical company and the top five companies in four categories.

Green Cross took the top spot among local pharmaceutical companies followed by Dong-A ST, Binex, Handok and Hanmi Pharmaceutical. GlaxoSmithKline Korea took the top rank among foreign pharmaceutical companies followed by Sanofi-Aventis Korea, AstraZeneca Korea, Janssen Korea and Pfizer Korea. [LIM HYUN-DONG]
