Ahn Sung-ki to volunteer in Africa



Actor Ahn Sung-ki will soon leave for a volunteer trip to Africa, according to Ilgan Sports on Tuesday.

The 64-year-old veteran actor will head to Malawi on Aug. 30 as the Goodwill Ambassador for the Korean Committee for UNICEF, staying there for a week.

Ahn has been engaged in volunteer work for the last 30 years. He started volunteering for Unicef since the 1980s, and was appointed to his current position in 1993. As a volunteer, Ahn has worked on various activities, including narrating some of Unicef’s promotional videos.

Since the actor debuted in 1957, he has starred in numerous hits, including movies “Unbowed” (2012), “Radio Star” (2006) and “The Warriors” (2001). He is currently preparing for several projects, including a movie “Singing of Cicadas” (working title).
