Yoo In-na

Actress Yoo In-na has stepped down from her role in the Chinese remake of tvN’s drama “Queen In-hyun’s Man,” according to CJ E&M on Wednesday.

The Korean actress completed shooting about two-thirds of the upcoming series only to be asked to step down.

Although CJ reported that Yoo and Hunan Satellite TV, the company in charge of the Chinese network producing the show, agreed on the star’s dismissal, many speculate that Yoo has become a victim of China’s retaliation to Korea’s decision to deploy a U.S.-led antimissile defense system.

The main female character played by the Korean actress will now be played by Taiwanese actress Guo Xue Fu, who appeared on MBC’s “Global We Got Married 2,” where she had a fictional marriage with singer Kim Hee-chul from K-pop group Super Junior. It remains unknown when the Chinese drama will be released.

YG Entertainment, which represents Yoo, has yet to make an official statement regarding the issue.

Meanwhile, Yoo is scheduled to join an upcoming tvN drama “Goblin,” which will air in December.
