[Sponsored Report] Shinhan’s CSR ranks again

Shinhan Financial Group (SFG) has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) World for 4 consecutive years, a first for a domestic financial company.

The DJSI indicates the socially responsible investments of the top 2,500 global companies listed on the stock market.

The index annually evaluates the sustainability performance of the companies by not only looking at financial achievements, but also environmental and social contributions.

Twenty-seven companies worldwide were placed on this year’s DJSI Index World, including global financial groups such as Westpac, BNP Paribas and Barclays.

Based on its stable governing structure, SFG received high scores in the categories of financial stability, ethical management, corporate social activities and brand management. As a result, it has been selected as the first Korean financial group on the DJSI list for 4 consecutive years.

Meanwhile, SFG is creating a Corporate Social Responsibility Committee under the Board of Directors. With this committee, the group has established 9 strategies to carry out social responsibility management focusing on consumer protection, risk management, establishment of a favorable business culture, increasing financial accessibility and eco-friendly activities.
