KBS suspends ‘1 Night 2 Days’ star Jung
The singer, who is currently wrapped up in an investigation regarding his sex tape scandal, recently held a press conference on Sept. 25 to explain that the tape was “filmed with consent and was deleted immediately. It was meant as a joke and was not filmed as a secret.”
A KBS official said in an official statement on Thursday, “After much discussion with Jung and his agency, we decided he needs some time off for self-reflection. He wanted to apologize to all of his fans and viewers that supported him for causing this uncomfortable situation. As of right now, filming for further episodes will be done without his presence.
However, since the results of the investigation have not been revealed, we will hold off on making any permanent decisions. He may make an appearance in the future episodes due to his role being difficult to edit out, for which we apologize in advance.”
Meanwhile, the singer is currently filming overseas for SBS variety show “Laws of the Jungle.” He will arrive back in Korea on Oct. 4.
