Busan One Asia Festival kicks off todayThe 2016 Busan One Asia Festival (BOF) opens today at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium featuring performances by a number of K-pop groups.
The opening ceremony will include performances by idol groups from today as well as favorites from years ago. The acts include Sechs Kies, Psy, Girls’ Generation, Infinite, Block B, B.A.P, Apink, T-ARA, I.O.I, DIA, Laboum, and more.
The festival will attempt to introduce Busan’s unique cultural and tourism-related activities, as well as its influence on K-pop and other international Korean media. Visitors will be able to experience music, food, beauty and more at the event.
Organizers of the event said that they wanted to create a fantasy K-pop land, choosing to hold the festival under the title “BOF Land.” They will attempt to demonstrate the evolution of the genre from the 1990’s up until the modern day, utilizing special performances to incorporate storytelling to relay their message.
The festival will also feature actress Lee Da-hae, Korean baseball star Chan-ho Park, and stylist Jung Yoon-ki as special guests.
The event will be broadcast live on television on SBS.
