Posco named most green steel company by the CDP

Posco was selected as the most eco-friendly steel company by the CDP, a British nonprofit focused on combating climate change. This is the first time a Korean company has topped the institute’s industry report.

The CDP assessed 14 global steel companies based on six criteria including management of greenhouse gases and climate governance, which evaluates each company’s steps toward counteracting climate change.

In 2007, Posco commercialized its Finex technology, an iron making-process that skips the step of steaming bituminous coal, which releases toxic substances.
