Asiana Airlines donates music instruments to Chinese school

Asiana Airlines announced Tuesday that it had selected the Tou Zhan Central School as the next partner for its Beautiful Classroom Project, part of the company’s corporate social responsibility activities. The school is located in the city of Qiqihar in northeastern China’s Heilongjiang Province.

A ceremony held Tuesday to celebrate the partnership was attended by Ahn Byeong-seog, Asiana Airlines’ regional president for China, and Zhao Wenhua, a commerce official from Heilongjiang Province. Asiana donated musical instruments to support the school, including two pianos, four drums and 60 percussion instruments of various types.

Asiana began the Beautiful Classroom project in 2012, and the company so far has provided help to 24 Chinese schools, presenting them with educational tools like pianos, projectors, computers and books worth 1.1 billion won ($970,000) in total.
