As a world leader in education, HUFS has signed academic exchange program agreements with 639 universities and institutions from 92 countries, and has the best infrastructure for globalization.
HUFS is especially known for cultivating talent with professional knowledge of foreign languages and in regional studies.
In particular, as a law promoting the education of “specialized foreign languages,” including Arabic and Vietnamese, went into effect in August, HUFS students are more equipped for the future with the school’s diverse and top-notch language departments.
In fact, the employment rate of HUFS students majoring in these specialized foreign languages is high. In 2014, the employment rate of students from the HUFS Department of Vietnamese was 93.8 percent, and for those from the Department of Malay-Indonesian and the Department of Hindi it was 71.4 percent.
Various programs are available at HUFS to foster global leaders as well, including: 7+1 Study Abroad Program, Student Exchange Program, 2+2 Dual Degree Program and Self-financed Study Abroad Program.
As a result, more than 2,000 students get the chance to learn and experience life overseas through the programs at HUFS annually.
HUFS is also running various overseas internship programs, enabling students to experience business and receive credits at the same time.
One of them is the “Honors Program,” established in 2015 to educate and foster professionals to work in strategic regions for the overseas expansion of government agencies and companies.
During the first semester of the Honors Program, students will be following curriculum from overseas sister universities. In the second semester, students will serve as interns at institutions abroad with ties to the university.
HUFS offers various academic programs to international students as well.
Through the International Diplomatic Scholarship program, HUFS admits international students recommended by foreign embassies in Korea. As a result, 64 outstanding overseas high school graduates have received scholarships to study at HUFS over the past three semesters.
Also, through the International Summer Session, HUFS provides quality English-based education on Korean politics, economics, society and culture as well as field activities for overseas students to give them the opportunity to experience Korea.
