Gary stops ‘Running,’ apologizes to fans
Rapper Gary shared his thoughts regarding his decision to leave the cast of SBS variety show “Running Man” after nearly seven years.“I have nothing but words of apology to everyone that was shocked by my sudden decision,” said the rapper on his Instagram account on Friday. “I can’t say how much I want to thank all the people who have shared their love and thoughts to me for the last seven years. I promise to my fans that I will never forget these happy memories, and will not disappoint in my future endeavors.”
The former cast member made his announcement on Tuesday, explaining his desires to be recognized as a musician rather than a television personality.
Meanwhile, actress Song Ji-hyo, who was often paired with the rapper on the program, expressed her support for his decision on Wednesday. The two were nicknamed the “Monday Couple” by fans for their chemistry on the show.
The rapper debuted as a member of hip-hop duo Leessang along with partner Gil in 2002. The group has yet to make a return to the music scene since their last studio effort “Unplugged” released in 2012.
