Koma Trade gets extension on contract with Xiaomi
Koma Trade announced Thursday that it extended its exclusive distribution deal with Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi for two years. It is the first time Xiaomi signed a two-year contract with a distributor, and is considered a strategic move into the Korean market.Koma Trade runs 194 stores across the country, and three are directly run by Xiaomi. As the official distributor, Koma Trade is planning on launching additional offline stores in Gwangju, South Jeolla. On Oct. 26, the distributor was awarded a Golden Distributor award by Xiaomi, which is given to only five out of the 200 distributors for the Chinese company. The award allows Koma to get their hands on new Xiaomi products before other distributors along with financial support from the headquarters for marketing fees.
