YG Entertainment, Psy deny connections to Choi

테스트

YG Entertainment released a statement on Thursday regarding recent rumors of K-pop singer Psy’s involvement with the recent Choi Soon-sil scandal.

According to unconfirmed statements made by the national assemblymen An Min-seok on TBS show “News Factory” on Thursday, Jang Si-ho, the niece of President Park Geun-hye’s friend Choi, made strong connections with the entertainment industry by becoming involved with the celebrity soccer team “Hoeori Soccer Club.” Through this, Jang became closely connected to a certain entertainment agency, using her political connections to give an unfair advantage to this company.

An also said that a certain singer that everybody will recognize has been constantly invited to international events as a representative of Korea. This particular singer not only has close relations to Jang, but regardless of there being other competent Korean stars, is the only one invited to these events.

Netizens pointed out that singer Psy fits the bill, having been rumored a member of the soccer team as well as his current internationally renowned status as a K-pop star, while also accusing YG of having been the company receiving an unfair advantage.

YG denied all accusations on Thursday, saying Jang was never a part of their company, that Psy was never confirmed to be a member of the soccer team, and that the two parties were never acquainted. The company concluded their statement by saying they will take legal action against all those spreading the “baseless rumors.”
