E-Mart to sell orange napa cabbage and red radishesE-Mart this week will begin selling a new variation of napa cabbage and two new colors of radish that it developed in collaboration with Farm Hannong, an agricultural affiliate of LG Chem, the company said Monday.
The new napa cabbage variation has 140 times more beta-Carotene, a chemical commonly found in orange vegetables such as carrots and pumpkins and aids in the production of vitamin A. The chemical gives the new napa cabbage variety a carroty color at its roots.
Radishes, which are typically white in Korea, will also be available in red and green variations, reflecting a new consumer preference for food aesthetics.
E-Mart will be selling the new vegetables from Nov. 17 to 23.
