Searching for the truth behind Park’s seven-hour absence

테스트

1) “We have no idea. Speaking about this issue is outside our duty. We will check on it.”
This is how a spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense answered a question asked by reporters about the mysterious seven-hour absence of President Park on the day the Sewol ferry sank.

2) “Have you found out whether a military nurse conducted any sort of medical treatment at the time when the ferry was sinking?”
Only 10 minutes would be enough to answer this question, yet the ministry’s attitude is way too passive.

3) “I guess only 0.01 percent of the effort that was put to fact-check Kim Je-dong’s alleged remark would be needed to find the truth on this issue.”
At the end, one of the reporters started rebuking the spokesman.

4) “Even the Defense Security Command and military police were mobilized to examine whether a political remark by Kim, an entertainer, 20 years ago was true. But this time, you need a mere hundredth of that effort!”

5) What the reporter pointed out was that one of the two military nurses who worked at the Blue House is still working with the Armed Forces Medical Command, which will make the investigation far easier than the case of entertainer Kim.

6) People had to endure an exhausting wrangle with the government until the revelation surfaced that the two nurses were regular staffers at the Blue House, rather than being dispatched by the Armed Forces Capital Hospital when medical treatment was needed.

7) “There is no visiting record outside of the Blue House on April 16, 2014.”
- A spokesman for the Blue House on Nov. 11
The Blue House emphasized that nobody visited the Blue House on the day of the Sewol ferry tragedy.

8) “On the day of ferry Sewol sinking, a military nurse from the Korean Armed Forces Capital Hospital was posted to the Blue House.”
- A Nov. 17 report from YTN
“We checked the visiting records of Korea Armed Forces Capital Hospital, but found no outcall to the Blue House.” - Ministry of National Defense
“None of the military nurses visited the Blue House on that day.”
The government refuted the report on the suspicions about the posting of two military nurses, citing the visiting record.

9) Well, their refutation is “fact” considering the military nurses belonged to the Blue House as regular staffers, so that they were not specially posted. Of course there was no visitation record.

10) However, the more the government suggested this absurd excuse, the more suspicion from the Korean people grew, and other unconfirmed conspiracies spread.

11) “The visiting record is not needed as the military nurses were regular staffers at the Blue House.”
The authority is shamelessly confident, insisting they had only spoken the facts.

12) The government is playing language games like a child trying to avoid punishment at school. Are they joking around with the people?

13) “Once again, the atmosphere here is not appropriate to hold a Q&A session.”
- a response from the Blue House to reporters
The government’s attitude is neither new nor surprising anymore.

14) A president who does not allow herself to be questioned,
spokesmen rolling out nonsensical excuses,
we have seen countless times how the Blue House blames others and shifts responsibility.

15) Let us ask again –
Who created the opportunity for conspiracies to spread?
Who is trying to conceal the truth?
