진행하던 일이나 계획하던 일이 다 무산되었을 때 우리말로 보통 ‘전부 수포로 돌아갔다.’라고 하는데요. 이것에 해당하는 영어 표현이 go down the drain입니다. 주어 자리에 계획하던 일 등을 쓰고 <~ went down the drain.> 또는 <~ all went down the drain.>이라고 하시면 됩니다.
