Toy imports from China rise on OEM agreements

Korea’s toy imports from China rose 12 percent this year, largely because of original equipment manufacturing agreements, the Korea Customs Service said Sunday.

The figure was estimated at $645 million in the first 10 months of 2017, accounting for 73 percent of all toy imports. The expansion is largely attributed to Korean companies signing more original equipment manufacturing deals with Chinese manufacturers to take advantage of low labor costs. Yonhap
