SsangYong Motor, a Korean unit of Indian auto giant Mahindra & Mahindra, unveiled the Rexton Sports on Tuesday, a premium pickup truck set to go on sale on Jan. 9.
The Rexton Sports was tentatively named Q200 before the company announced its official name through a press release on Tuesday. The vehicle runs on a 2.2-liter diesel engine and will offer stable and smooth off-road driving, according to the company, as it shares the same frame as a G4 Rexton.
SsangYong sold a total of 143,685 cars in 2017, the company announced on the same day. Its domestic sales nearly doubled thanks to the release of the G4 Rexton, the premium sports utility vehicle it released during the first half of the year. Its small-sized Tivoli continued to do well, selling a total of 55,280 cars.
