BTS breaks their own album sales record
K-pop boy band BTS broke its own album sales record last month, according to the country’s key music sales tracker Gaon Chart on Monday.
The band’s EP “Love Yourself: Her” sold 92,391 copies last month to record more than 1.58 million in total sales since its release in September, a record for any Korean album tracked by the chart.
The album sold 1.2 million copies between its Sept. 18 release and the end of that month, becoming the biggest-selling K-pop album by month in 16 years, after only boy band g.o.d’s fourth album.
It has performed well in overseas markets, ranking seventh on the “Billboard 200” and 14th on the U.K. Official Album Chart.
Meanwhile, the band’s other 10 albums have also entered the Gaon’s top 50 albums chart, including “Young Forever” at 16th, “WINGS” at 17th and “You Never Walk Alone” at 21st.
