HMM to launch container service to Northern Europe
Hyundai Merchant Marine, Korea’s top shipping company, said Wednesday that it will launch a regular service linking Asia to Northern Europe in early April.The regular container service, called Asia Europe Express, comes in response to growing demand for the service from businesses.
Hyundai Merchant Marine said it will deploy 10 Panamax vessels with a capacity of 4,600 twenty-foot equivalent units for the service, with the first voyage scheduled for April 8 from the Korean port city of Busan.
Key ports of the Asia Europe Express include Busan, Hamburg, Hong Kong, Rotterdam, Shanghai and Singapore.
Hyundai Merchant Marine said transit from Busan to Rotterdam will take 30 days.
