Kumho will outfit BMW’s X3 with Gwangju-made tires

Kumho Tire announced Tuesday that it will supply tires for BMW’s new X3 SUVs. The tire company expects the deal to serve as a stepping stone as it plans to expand in the global market.

Korea’s second-biggest tire maker will supply its Crugen H91 high-performance SUV tire to BMW’s new X3s manufactured in the United States. The Crugen H91 is made in Kumho Tire’s Gwangju factory.

“The supply of Kumho Tire’s product as the original equipment for BMW’s new X3 means that our products’ quality and technology have been recognized,” said a Kumho Tire official.

The Crugen tire series was developed for SUVs. The tire has received praise in global markets for its effects on handling, braking and acceleration both on and off the road, the company said.
