Products from Shopbop, a popular online fashion store owned by retail giant Amazon, will soon be available on a Korean e-commerce website for the first time.
SK Planet’s e-commerce affiliate, 11st, announced Tuesday that it has brought some 25,000 products from 1,000 Shopbop brands, including Marc Jacobs and Opening Ceremony, to sell in its jikgu, or overseas purchasing, category.
Shopping on overseas e-commerce websites has become increasingly popular in Korea, as international websites often offer considerably lower prices compared to imported products. However, the complicated shopping process has long frustrated customers.
“A lot of Korean e-commerce platforms have been eyeing Shopbop lately, but having it on our website is expected to boost 11st’s competitiveness as a jikgu platform,” an official from SK Planet said.
