Hong Soo-ah stars in Chinese film

Actor Hong Soo-ah plays a lead role in a new Chinese horror film, which will also get a theatrical release in Korea, her agency DreamT Entertainment announced on Wednesday.

The thriller movie, literally translated as “A Child with No Eyes,” is based on a true story about a child who was left to die after getting into a car accident.

Hong plays a righteous newspaper journalist who tries to uncover the mysterious murder case.

The original title of the film was “The Bystander,” but it was changed to “A Child with No Eyes” with its release in China on Friday.

Hong is the only Korean actor in the film and is said to demonstrate fluency in Chinese. The actor has shown her capability to not only take on various movie genres, from romance to horror, but also to be multilingual, working in both the Korean and Chinese film industries.

The date of the film’s Korean release has not been announced.

Hong has also starred in the Chinese drama “Billion Dollar Inheritors” (2014) and the Korean horror thriller film “Malice” (2016).
