New head of Siemens’ local unit comes from Kepco

The president of Siemens’ Korean unit was chosen as the new head of the state-run Korea Electric Power Corporation, the utility firm said Tuesday.

Kim Jong-kap won a majority vote in a shareholders meeting held at the Kepco headquarters in Naju, South Jeolla, which has been vacant for the past five months. The 67-year-old started his career at the Commerce Ministry in 1975 and has held various posts, including vice minister and commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office.
