Lee Jin-sung to remake Vietnamese hit song

Singer Lee Jin-sung of the band Monday Kiz will return later this month with a remake of the Vietnamese hit song “Sau Tat Ca,” literally translated as “When All is Over,” according to his agency Monday Kiz Company on Friday.

“‘Sau Tat Ca’ is originally by Vietnamese singer Erik of pop group Monstar, and it topped the local charts in Vietnam in 2016,” said the agency. The song was so popular that Korean artists Paul Kim and Sandeul of boy group B1A4 sang a Korean version of the song.

The agency added, “This is the first time a Korean artist has released a remake of a Vietnamese song.”

Lee made his debut with Kim Min-su as Monday Kiz in 2005 but just three years after their debut, Lee’s partner Kim died from a motorcycle accident, automatically leaving Lee to disband the group.

In 2010, Lee recruited two members Im Han-byul and Han Seung-hee to start anew with the same group name. However, in 2014, Im and Han dropped out of the group and Lee decided to carry on as a solo artist.
