2018 Busan Motor Show will kick off on June 7

The 2018 Busan International Motor Show will kick off in the southern coastal city on June 7, featuring five domestic car brands and 10 imported ones under the theme of “Beyond Innovation, Into the Future.”

The number of world and Asia premieres will be announced later in the month.

Hyundai Motor, Kia Motors, Genesis, GM Korea and Renault Samsung Motors will participate. SsangYong Motor has decided not to attend for the second year in a row.

Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lexus, Audi, BMW, Mini, Nissan, Toyota and Infiniti will also participate, although the other 10 companies that also import cars to Korea will not attend.

Commercial truck manufacturer MAN Truck & Bus will also participate.

“The show hasn’t expanded in terms of size, but we are trying to make it a sort of a festival in collaboration with tourism in Busan,” said Ham Jeong-oh, president and CEO of Bexco, where the show will be held.

The motor show will run through June 17.
