Psy ends his contract with YG Ent.

Psy’s contract with his agency YG Entertainment has officially come to an end, according to YG on Tuesday.

“After a long conversation with Psy, YG has agreed to respect the artist’s decision to pursue a new challenge,” said the agency. They added, “We have supported Psy’s extraordinary energy and passion for music, and shared in the astonishment of the global success of ‘Gangnam Style.’”

The agency said that they will always have a close relationship with Psy, whether or not they are in contract with the singer.

The artist debuted in 2001, and quickly became a fan favorite for his songs such as “Champion” (2002), “Father” (2005) and “Entertainer” (2006). In 2012, Psy gained international fame for his hit song “Gangnam Style.”
