Hyundai Rotem secures big Bangladeshi train orderHyundai Rotem said Friday it has received a 41 billion won ($38 million) diesel-electric locomotive order from Bangladesh, with delivery scheduled to be completed by 2020.
Hyundai Rotem beat rivals from China and Spain to build 10 diesel-electric locomotives for the Bangladesh railway authorities by 2020, the company said in a statement.
The company has already supplied 17 percent of the 285 diesel-electric locomotives operated by the South Asian country, it said.
Hyundai Rotem, a unit of Hyundai Motor Group, manufactures and sells railway vehicles, defense systems and industrial plants.
