Police charge Maximite for assault

DJ and producer Shin Min-chul, known as Maximite, was booked without detention for assaulting his girlfriend, and his case has been sent to prosecutors, according to an official from the Gangnam police in southern Seoul on Wednesday.
Shin is suspected of assaulting his girlfriend a number of times at his house in Gangnam District last October.
The DJ is also under investigation for smoking marijuana in November 2016.
“I apologize for causing a stir. I am deeply reflecting [on what I’ve done] and doing my best to cooperate with investigations. I will accept any punishment following the investigations,” said Shin in an official statement released Wednesday.
Maximite is most famous for producing “Pick Me,” the theme song of the hit Mnet music competition program “Produce 101.”
