June 6 marks Memorial Day in Korea, and a ceremony held at the national cemetery was attended by 10,000 people including President Moon Jae-in as well as a number of political figures, veterans and many more.
The four actors, who are currently serving in the military as active duty soldiers, stood side by side on stage at the beginning of the ceremony and sang “Aegukga,” the Korean national anthem.
Celebrities honored soldiers who have lost their lives in battle on social media throughout the day.
Singer Ye-sung of boy band Super Junior posted a picture of the flag with the caption, “Today is #MemorialDay the day we commemorate the allegiance of our [soldiers] who gave their lives to defend our nation.”
Comedian Kim Ji-min wrote on her Instagram, “Today is Memorial Day. The siren will ring at 10 a.m. Let us pay our respects to the martyrs and the fallen patriots with a silent tribute.”
