‘Jurassic World’ director makes stop in Seoul

The director of “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” J.A. Bayona, made a surprise visit to Seoul on Thursday to celebrate the film selling over one million tickets in Korean cinemas on the day of its release.

“The director was very happy to hear about the great response in Korea,” the film distributor UPI Korea said to Ilgan Sports, an affiliate of the Korea JoongAng Daily.

The film exceeded “Avengers: Infinity War,” which set an opening record of selling 980,052 tickets earlier this spring.

The director was scheduled to fly from Spain to Hawaii, but with the huge success of the film in Korea, he adjusted his schedule to visit Korea. The filmmaker’s schedule has not been revealed to local press yet, as the visit itself was a surprise.
