Shinhan Card announces partnership with Airbnb

Shinhan Card signed a strategic partnership with home-share platform Airbnb to cooperate on corporate promotion and client benefit services, the company said on Thursday.

The agreement is aimed at providing digitalized financial services for Airbnb’s hosts and benefits for Shinhan Card users using the home rental marketplace.

“It is necessary [for both companies] to expand their digital ecosystem by growing and connecting internal and external resources,” said Lim Young-jin, CEO of Shinhan Card.

Back in March, the card issuer also fostered a partnership with Uber to provide Uber’s ride-hailing, car-sharing and food delivery service platforms on its mobile application Shinhan FAN.

The agreement allowed Shinhan users to get access to Uber on the FAN application while Uber users would get discounts when paying with Shinhan cards.
