Missing teenage girl’s body may be found

A body presumed to be that of a female high school student who went missing in Gangjin County, South Jeolla, last week was found Sunday atop a steep hill after an intensive search by police.

경찰이 대대적인 수색을 실시한 끝에 전남 강진군에서 지난주 실종됐던 여고생으로 추정되는 시체가 야산 정상부근에서 일요일 발견됐다.
The corpse was stripped of all clothing, had its hair shaved off and was so severely decayed that the girl’s family members were unable to verify its identity. The only other clue found in the area was a lip gloss next to the body.

시체는 옷이 모두 벗겨져 있었고, 머리카락이 모두 잘려져 있었다. 너무 심하게 부패해서 여고생의 가족들이 신원을 확인할 수 없었다. 유일한 단서는 시체 옆에서 발견된 립글로스였다.
The results of a preliminary autopsy released on Monday revealed that there was no clear evidence of exterior injuries such as bone fractures on the body. An additional examination and DNA test will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

월요일에 발표한 예비 부검 결과에 따르면 시체에는 골절과 같은 외상의 분명한 증거는 없었다. 정확한 사인을 규명하기 위해 추가 검사와 유전자 검사를 시행할 예정이다.
The 16-year-old girl, whose name has not been disclosed by police, was a high school freshman living with her parents in Gangjin County.

16세 소녀는 강진군에서 부모와 함께 살고 있던 고등학교 1학년이었다. 경찰이 이름을 공개하지 않았다.
She went missing on the afternoon of June 16 after telling a friend through Facebook that she was going to nearby Haenam County because a friend of her father wanted to help her find a part-time job. The student never returned home, and her worried parents reported her missing about an hour past midnight.

그 여고생은 아버지의 친구가 아르바이트를 구해준다고 해서 인근 해남군으로 가고 있다고 페이스북으로 친구에서 메시지를 남긴 후 6월16일 오후 실종됐다. 그 여고생은 귀가하지 않았고, 자정을 넘겨 새벽 1시쯤 부모가 실종신고를 했다.
The friend of her father, surnamed Kim, was the most likely killer. He committed suicide following a host of suspicious activity the next day. Police believe his apparent suicide was prompted by fears that authorities were hot on his trail.

아버지의 친구 김모씨가 가장 유력한 살인 용의자인데, 그 다음날 여러 가지 의심스러운 행동을 한 뒤 자살했다. 경찰은 김씨가 수사팀이 바짝 추격해오자 두려움 때문에 자살한 것으로 보고 있다.
